It uses SRD 5.1 creatures only. Monsters that live in other books are not in here, because they are not openly licensed.
Which creature belongs in which terrain is our editorial judgement, and the book says so on its own contents page. The SRD publishes no habitats, so somebody had to decide, and that somebody was us.
The per-creature XP values are the SRD's. The number-appearing rule is Torchline's own — a starting point, not an official rule. Trust your table over any generator, this one included.
